Extra Curricular Activities

Our school has Teachers - Parents Association since 1978 to encourage girls, to educate them and to find out their best for the society. Shri Batukbhai Kanani is the president of this association. He is dedicated, sincere and very helpful to poor girls students. He is very active, enthusiastic, co-operative and having problem solving nature. Teachers Parents Association help poor girls to pay their fees, school uniform; to encourage clever students, elocution and drawing competitions; to guide students association; celebration of Guru Purnima; give prizes to rankers of the school; specially gives prizes for highest marks in Science and Mathematics subject. We also publish yearly school magazine 'Sanyojita' since 2004. We are running Eco club to save the environment. We plan various competitions like Class room decoration, Teachers' day celebration, Garba, Rangoli, Greeting Card Making, Pravesotsav, Sports Day, Antakshari, Memory Test, Salad Decoration, Patriotic Songs, Fun Fair, Best out of Waste, Prize Distribution Day every year according to festivals celebrated in Gujarat-India. Our students also take part in public examinations like Hindi/Sanskrit exams, Drawing exam, Prakharta Shodh Kasotee, Scholarship Exam, Gyanvardhak Exam, Shishtavanchan Exam every year. We also held educational trips, lectures of experts in different fields to guide our students. Our students visit Science fair held in city.

Additional Details

During  the  British  rule in India, a  social  awakening  was  brought  among  the  people  to  explain  the importance  of  girls education. Education is the root of growth – was the main goal when established on  in the heart of Surat city. To educate girls is to train the society was the base and to dedicate highly cultured, sensitive, idealist female citizens to the society. As  it  was  considered  as  an  integral  part  of  social  progress  and   development during freedom concert. Dr Annie Basent is the pioneer. She had set the base of our institute in 1852. Chandagauri Gordhandas Sonawala Mahila Vidhyalaya Mandal was registered with Shree Surat Mahila Vidhyalaya Mandal according to Indian Societies Registration Act 1860 and Mumbai Sarvajanik Trust Act 1950.
