Overview

Vailankanni Group of Institutions had a very humble beginning in 1964, when Mrs. Malathy Panicker & Mr. K.P.G. Panicker had a vision from our Lady of health Vailankanni to serve the cause of education in our Lady’s name. A small school in the name of Shrine Vailankanni School with 17 students and 3 staff members was started in a thatched roof at No. 17, Venkatanarayana Road. In a decade, the school grew by Gaps and Pounds and catered to the educational needs of both the rich and the poor alike. The school moved to its present location at the heart of T.Nagar in the year 1974.
A decade of untiring service and sincere work look its toll on Mr. K.P.G. Panicker whom everybody lovingly called as Uncle in the year 1977, when the first batch of X Standard students took their CBSE examination and came out with flying colours producing 100% results. Ever since it was a never ending success story under the dynamic leadership of Mrs. Malathy Panicker. So is the case with every XII Standard batch since 1981.

In the year 1983, emboldened by the success, Mrs. B.K.K. Pillai then the Secretary of the School and the daughter of Mrs. Malathy Panicker started the chain of schools.

After the sudden demise of Mrs. Malathy Panicker, Mrs. B.K.K. Pillai took over as Chair Person and started Vailankanni Malathy Panicker college of Arts & Science in the year 1993 with the help of her son Mr. K.T. Pillai B.Sc., B.Tech. Canada.

Ever since 1964, when the first school Shrine Vailankanni Senior Secondary School was started, the Family never looked back, but always looked into the future to seek, what more would be alone for the cause of education. Today with over 5,000 students and 300 staff members and ever present blessings of Our Lady Vailankanni, we look forward to the challenges of the 21st century, to meet them head on and contribute our tiny bit to the future of the great Indian Nation.
