ISA is a co-educational boarding school that caters to students aged between 8 and 18. Our aim is to provide a friendly and caring international community, which values a holistic approach to education.
The programme at ISA allows every child to be known as an individual, and to be encouraged and challenged accordingly. At the center of the School’s philosophy is the desire – necessity, even – to understand the needs of each child. While we have high academic and behavioral expectations, we believe every child can succeed, and class sizes and talented teachers at ISA encourage the students to grow and develop to their full potential.

At ISA we actively aim to create an environment in which students can feel happy, secure, fulfilled, and free to seek help when needed. Respect for others, open-mindedness, tolerance, integrity and enjoyment of life, are encouraged, whilst any form of bullying or abuse is vigilantly countered. Students are able to seek support from the Counsellor, a member of the boarding team, their tutor, or teacher. The Counsellor has an open door policy, where students are welcomed to discuss issues or concerns at their convenience. The Counsellor works closely with the other members of staff to ensure student concerns are properly addressed. Matrons are on call 24-hours to tend to all medical issues, and Aamby Valley City hospital is close by in case of emergencies. PSHE provision is timetabled for students in the Middle School and coordinated by the Counselor, whilst issues are also addressed in-house by tutors and the boarding team. All students of whatever age, gender, ethnic group or cultural of religious background merit equal treatment and concern, with no one group favoured to the exclusion of others. We seek to offer all students equality of opportunity, fairness of treatment, and access to services and facilities. The school is in open communication with parents in regards to student welfare, and is happy to receive calls at any time if a parent has any concern about their son or daughter. The security and location of Aamby Valley City provides a naturally safe and nurturing environment within ISA.

Additional Details

The ISA Co-Curricular Programme operates each afternoon from Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings. It forms an integral part of every student’s school learning programme. The structure of the Co-Curricular Programme is designed to reflect the ethos and philosophy of the school. At its heart are the central components of the IB Learner Profile. The Standards 3 to 10 programme is an important precursor to the CAS programme in Standards 11 and 12. The programme places a strong emphasis on Commitment and Enrichment. This integral part of the student’s day allows the student to home in on their existing skills and challenge themselves to develop new ones. Students gain many opportunities to make a real ddifference to those within the school and larger local communities.
