Want to go abroad for studies and don’t know how to go about it? Well! These exams are standardized tests which make you eligible to get admission in any course abroad. So to apply for the universities abroad you need to qualify one or more exams as listed below.

1. GRE
GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is a standardized test which is used as an entry requirement by most of the graduate schools in the US, UK, etc. Students are tested on verbal reasoning, analytical, quantitative reasoning and critical thinking. It is a computer adaptive test. Depending on the university, GRE score could be a mere admission requirement or an important selection factor. The cost of the test is USD 205(subject to change), and the score is valid for 5 years. The testing procedure is for 3 hours and 45 minutes. You can prepare for GRE in 1 month by proper planning and prioritizing the topics based on your strengths and weakness.

2. GMAT
GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test is a computer adaptive test which is used to take admission in graduate management programs such as MBA. It assesses problem-solving abilities and analytical writing skills. It also tests data sufficiency, critical reasoning skills, and logic. This exam can be taken five times a year, with each attempt being taken with a gap of 16 days. This test is for 3.5 hours.

3. IELTS
IELTS is the English language proficiency test. This test is taken to check the English proficiency of non-native students. It is accepted by most British, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand institution, by around 3000 US institutes and many other professional organizations in the world. The IELTS score is valid for 2 years.

4. TOEFL
Test of English as a Foreign Language is a standardized test used to measure the English proficiency of the non-native students. It is one of the two major English language proficiency tests, the other being IELTS. The test can be taken any number of times in a year but should not be more than once in 12 days. TOEFL is valid for two years.

5. SAT
Scholastic Aptitude Test is the standardized test used for admission in colleges in the United States. SAT is published and owned by College Board. SAT has undergone some changes in the year 2016 and so it is for a duration of 3 hours along with a separate essay which is for 50 minutes. Writing the essay is optional. The SAT score ranges from 400 to 1600. The students are tested on reading, writing, and mathematics, with the Essay being optional.

6. ACT
ACT (American College Testing) is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States. The ACT has four multiple choice sections which are Reading, Math, Science, and English. It also has an optional essay section. The test is for 2 hours and 55 minutes without writing and 3 hours 35 minutes with writing.
