What is the test about?
Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is a written exam conducted by
Indian Air Force twice every year to induct officers in the IAF. This test is conducted by the Indian Air Force for selection of
officers in all branches of the IAF (except medical and dental) viz.
Flying Branch (Short Service Commission only), Technical
Branch(Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission) and Ground
Duty Branch(Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission). AFCAT
is conducted twice a year (in the month of February & August).

What are the test syllabus, duration and format?
- The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions, three marks each.
- The entrance test will be of two hours duration and will contain
multiple choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability,
reasoning, general awareness and military aptitude.
