I have to study politics and war so that my sons can study mathematics, commerce, and agriculture, so their sons can study poetry, painting, and music. India, as a country, is always vulnerable to external and internal security problems. It is pertinent, in the present context of asymmetric nature of warfare, that awareness about security is key in saving innocent lives. Therefore, apart from knowing your enemy, it is important to know your own vulnerabilities as a nation-state and how to minimize them by understanding, countering, and training. With that as a prelude, it is important that the youth understand the value of security and get motivated to join the security apparatus according to their caliber. Read less
